You may feel the gentle sensation of the spicules being applied to the skin, the treatment is not considered painful or uncomfortable. Many clients find the experience relaxing, while still benefiting from the skin-renewing effects associated with traditional microneedling. 

Whilst Cellstory helps stimulate collagen production and improve overall skin texture, it is not designed to treat deeper acne scarring such as boxcar or ice pick scars. The spicules work more superficially within the skin and do not penetrate deeply enough to effectively target more advanced scarring. For deeper acne scars, we would instead recommend SkinPen Precision Microneedling for more targeted collagen stimulation and skin remodelling.  

Cellstory is known for its 'no downtime' compared to traditional microneedling treatments. Most clients may experience slight redness, sensitivity or a mild “spiky” sensation for 24–72 hours after treatment, but this is usually very manageable and temporary. 

You can typically return to normal daily activities straight away, although we usually recommend intense exercise, excessive heat and active skincare products for the first 48-72 hours to allow the skin to heal and achieve the best results. However, make up can be applied the next day.

Whilst everyone is different, for optimal, long-lasting results, we recommend a course of 4 treatments spaced 3–4 weeks apart. 

Maintenance treatments are recommended.
